Ian Now a Hurricane Headed to Florida — Get Ready Now

The American Red Cross urges everyone in Florida to get ready for a major storm as Hurricane Ian grows stronger and heads toward the state with dangerous winds, rain and storm surges. Storm watches and warnings have been issued for a good part of the state which could feel Ian’s impacts starting moment.

Experts prognosticate Florida could see as important as 15 elevation of rain throughout this week which, combined with a dangerous storm swell, may spark flooding across the state. People in the path of this storm should have their hurricane plan in place and nearly cover the situation throughout the week. Ian could be the first major hurricane to strike Florida since 2018.
RED CROSS PREPARES The Red Cross is covering the situation nearly and working with our mates to shelter and support people who could be impacted by this storm.
